How to play

Pick a house. Guess the price. Score points. That's the whole game — here's how to play it well.

🗺️ It all starts on the map

Real streets. Real houses. Real sold prices hiding behind every pin. Your job is to read the neighbourhood like a buyer would — then take your best shot.

1 · Pick a house on the map

Tap any pin to open a real home that just sold. You'll see photos, roughly where it is, how big it is, and how many rooms it has.

  • 🏠 Play near home for an edge, or go far for a real challenge.
  • 🎯 Each house is a one-shot deal — make your guess count.

2 · Pick your mode

Two ways to play — set it in your game settings:

  • Detailed — see it all: photos, size, rooms, description. Great for beginners.
  • Price Only — barely any clues. Pure gut instinct, big bragging rights.

3 · Drop your price pin

Slide to the price you think the house sold for, then lock it in. No waiting around — your score pops up instantly.

Three things build that score: how close you stood to the house, how close your guess was, and how many hints you left unopened. Missing the distance by a little barely hurts. Price and hints are more direct — the further off you are, or the more you peek, the more points slip away.

How points work

Every guess is worth up to 100 points, built from three simple ingredients. Nail all three and you've got a perfect round.

Distance up to 50 pts

It's "warmer, warmer" — the closer you're really standing to the house, the more points you bank.

Right at the door 50 pts
A short walk (1 km) ~38 pts
Same region (50 km) ~19 pts
Way off (1000+ km) 0 pts

💡 Good to know: small misses barely count against you — this one is forgiving. Only huge distances really sting.

Accuracy up to 30 pts

The classic price-guessing game — how close did you land to what the house actually sold for?

Spot on 30 pts
10% off ~27 pts
50% off 15 pts
Doubled it (or worse) 0 pts

📋 Say the house sold for $200k: guess $200k → 30 pts. Guess $180k → ~27 pts. Guess $400k → 0 pts.

🙈 Hints up to 20 pts

Every house hides 4 clues — size, rooms, year built, sold date. Leave them blurred and keep the whole bonus.

No peeking 20 pts
1 clue revealed 15 pts
2 clues revealed 10 pts
Revealed all 4 0 pts

🎯 Trade-off: every peek costs 5 points but can steady your price guess. Play blind for the bonus, or peek if you need the help.

See it add up
