Many players see a pattern after a while: they guess cheap homes too high and expensive homes too low. This is normal.
Why it happens
When we are unsure, our guesses move towards the middle. We have a "typical home price" in our head, and every guess is pulled a little towards it.
So for a cheap home, the pull is upward. For an expensive home, the pull is downward.
How to see it in your own guesses
Look at your history. Sort your guesses into cheap, middle and expensive homes. Compare how far off you were in each group, and in which direction.
How to fix it
- Be brave at the ends. When everything says "cheap", guess cheap.
- Use the price per square metre for the area, not a general feeling.
- When you see clear signs of an expensive home, such as water view, a top floor or a popular area, do not hold back.
The good news
Once you know about the pull, you can correct for it. Many players see their score rise quickly after they notice this pattern.
