• Worn floors.
• Old windows.

Buyers estimate what the renovation will cost, and then usually take off a bit more for the work and the risk.

Big and small jobs

• Paint and new floors: small jobs. Small effect on the price.
• A new kitchen: a medium job.
• A new bathroom or new pipes: a big job. Big effect on the price.

A newly renovated home can sell for more than the cost of the renovation, because many buyers do not want to do the work themselves.
