Chapter 2 · The rules

Close counts. Wild guesses don't.

Every guess is scored against the real sold price on a published logarithmic curve — generous near the bullseye, ruthless far from it.

The curve

A perfect guess is worth 1,000 points. Land within a whisker of the sold price and you keep almost all of them; the score falls away logarithmically as your guess drifts, hitting zero for the truly optimistic.

Logarithmic means the difference between “close” and “very close” matters more than the difference between “far” and “very far” — exactly how market intuition should be rewarded.

Why we publish it

No hidden multipliers, no boosts, no pay-to-win. The same curve scores a student in Gothenburg and a broker in Stockholm. When the numbers are public, the bragging rights are real.

Revealing clues before you guess can trim your maximum — the sharpest players price a home from its photos alone.

Aim small: the curve pays for precision.
