Chapter 1 · The argument

It started, like most good games, with an argument

Someone said the apartment upstairs went for too much. Someone else said too little. Nobody could prove anything — until we started keeping score.

The dinner table problem

Every dinner table in Sweden has hosted the same argument: what did that place really go for? Everyone has a number. Everyone is certain. And by dessert, everyone has forgotten to check.

PricePinner exists because we didn't forget. We looked it up, declared a winner, and realized the argument was more fun with a scoreboard.

From napkin to map

The first version was a napkin with initials and a sold price. The second was a spreadsheet. The third put every real sold home on a map and let anyone drop a pin on their guess.

The scoring curve, the clues, the friendly trash talk — all of it grew out of that first evening. The game still ends the same way: with a real price, and someone saying “no way”.
