How the 100-point score works

Distance, price and clues: the three parts of every PricePinner score, with real numbers.

Three towers of different heights stand for distance, accuracy and hint points, next to a gold trophy

The scoring in PricePinner is public. There is no secret formula and there are no paid boosts. Every guess gets a score from 0 to 100, and the score has three parts.

Distance: up to 50 points

You get all 50 points when you stand within 200 metres of the home. After that, the points go down slowly:

  • 1 km away: 41 points
  • 5 km away: 31 points
  • 10 km away: 27 points
  • 100 km away: 14 points
  • 1000 km or more: 0 points

Price: up to 30 points

You get 30 points multiplied by how close your guess is to the real final price:

  • Exact price: 30 points
  • 10 % off: 27 points
  • 20 % off: 24 points
  • 50 % off: 15 points

You get 0 price points only when your guess is off by the full price or more.

Clues: up to 20 points

Each home has hidden clues. Every home has three of them: living area, rooms and year built. Many homes have more, such as the monthly fee, the floor, the energy class or a balcony. Open none and you keep all 20 points. Each clue that you open takes an equal part of the 20 points.

Example

You stand 1 km from the home, guess 10 % too low, and open one of the home's three clues. That is 41 + 27 + 13 = 81 points.

Why three parts?

Each part rewards a different skill. Distance rewards curiosity: go and look. Price rewards knowledge. Clues reward confidence. A player who walks, knows the market and trusts their eye gets close to 100.
